We invite representatives from Western Ukraine to participate in international training in security sector reformation
Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation together with the Slovak Centre for European and North Atlantic Affairs (CENAA) and Lviv Academy for Human Rights of Don Bosco initiates a training on "Security sector reform. Slovak experience. "
The training will be held on 20-24 April, 2015 in Lviv (Hotel Atlas, 27 Shevchenko Ave).
The training aims at improving the performance of Ukrainian governmental experts and representatives of non-governmental organizations regarding the military reform, security transformation, and integration to NATO. During the training experts from Slovakia and Poland will talk about the experience of transformation using the example of their countries.
Within the framework of this project trainings will be held in Kiev, Lviv and Odessa. At the end of the year the participants will to Slovakia for an educational course.
The project is supported by SlovakAid Agency.
Who can participate? Members of NGOs, civil society institutions, volunteer organizations, governmental institutions on security and military sector, graduate students specialized in international relations from the Western Ukraine, namely Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Rivne, Ternopil, Volyn, Chernivtsi regions.
The working language is English.
What will we talk about?
- Security sector reform in theory and on practice - institutions, responsibilities, relations.
- Strategy and Reforms, the impact of integration into NATO on the security sector.
- Reform of the armed forces, military duty or professionalization, modernization.
- Public diplomacy, public campaigns, communication with press and social inclusion
