Experts will share their experience in security sector reformation

Representatives of the Slovac Center of European and Northern-Atlantic Affairs( CENAA) will hold a training titled: «Scenarios of security sector reform in Ukraine. Slovac experience

Training will last 5 days – 24-28 February 2015.

The official opening of the session will be held on the 24th of February.

Invited speakers:

  • Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine – Oleksandr LYTVYNENKO

  • Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine – Yuriy SIVACHEK

  • Member of Parliament – Yuriy BEREZA

  • Member of Parliament – Dmytro TYMCHUK

  • Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States in Ukraine – Jeffrey PYETT

  • Director of the Center of European and Northern-Atlantic affairs of Slovakia and Former State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Slovakia – Robert ONDREYCHAK

  • Head of the Supervisory Council of the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation Tereziya YATSENYUK.

The following issues will be discussed:

  • Will the weapons be supplied to Ukraine?

  • What should be done to enter NATO?

  • How the Euro-Atlantic community can help Ukraine?

  • Is it possible to use the experience of Slovak reforms in Ukraine? If yes, how?

The training is aimed at raising awareness of Ukrainian state experts and representatives of non-governmental organizations on military security sector reform, transformation of security and joining NATO. During the training experts from Slovakia and Poland will talk about the experience of state transformation using the example of their countries.

Within the scope of the project it is planned to hold 3 trainings in Ukraine. In the end of the year the best participants will go to Slovakia for an educational course.

The project is held by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation in cooperation with the Center of European and Northern-Atlantic affairs (CENAA) and SlovacAid Agency.
