Andrew Marr on the Russian aggression: You struggle with the spread of a dark cloud across the world
Ukraine is countering not only the Russian army or tanks, but its dictatorship willing to spread across the neighboring countries.
This is what Andrew Marr, a British journalist and broadcaster said today at the 15th Annual Kyiv Security Forum established by the Arseniy Yatsenuyk’s “Open Ukraine” Foundation.
“Ukraine’s struggle is the struggle for freedom, democracy, and free speech. The enemy is not just tanks, or missiles, or conscript sacrificial fighters. The enemy is really dictatorship, laws made to intimidate people and shoot them up, imprisonment as a kind of political truncheon, the spread of a dark suffocating mental cloud across the world”, - he emphasized.
Andrwe Marr also mentioned that there were many brave Russians in his studio, who went back to Russia to face arrest and imprisonment “to try to recover the owner of their country”.
“One day I believe that the real Russia will reassert itself … But until then – we are not daft, and we are not blind”, - he said.
“We know that your fight is our fight. And you should know all the time in our hearts we are with you, and we are willing you on. Slava Ukraini!”, - he summed it up.
Noteworthy, the 15th annual Kyiv security forum “For Our and Your Freedom/ Fighting for NATO” will be held on May 25-26, 2023, with the participation of well-known international figures. In particular, at the Forum, the KSF Security Council will be established and a policy document will be adopted with recommendations for the NATO summit in Vilnius to be held this July.
