Danylo Lubkivskyi: The enslaved peoples of russia should be interested in the victory of Ukraine
Ukraine must support the struggle of enslaved peoples, clearly articulating its standpoint and implementing diplomacy of values.
This was the message by the public figure, diplomat, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Envoy of Ukraine Danylo Lubkivskyi at the Kyiv Security Forum, founded by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.
“Naturally, Ukraine should support such resolutions on values that are being voiced today in the Human Rights Council in support of the Uyghurs, as well as in support of other peoples subject to oppression, repression, or exceptional violence. On the other hand, though, we should undoubtedly develop dialogues in such a civilized way that clearly demonstrates the historical side Ukraine sticks up to today” he said.
At the same time, Danylo Lubkivskyi added: “Ukrainian foreign policy must be value-based. This is our main, I would say, pragmatic tool. Our faith in values is synonymous to our great historical pragmatism. If we fail to act according to values and principles of international relations, no one could guarantee our security, our sovereignty or our borders,” the diplomat said.
He also highlighted the fact that Ukraine’s victory in the war for its independence and sovereignty is vital for all peoples enslaved by the russian federation.
“Our goal is our victory over russia, the latter having no right to exist in its current format. It is, therefore, an exceptional challenge not only for Ukraine, but for all of humankind,” summarized Danylo Lubkivskyi.
