Andrzej Zybertowicz: Reforms in Ukraine to be influenced by oligarchic structures associated with Russia
Anticorruption programs offered by Western partners to Ukraine had not taken into account the role of oligarchic structures, which influenced the speed of reforms in the country. Such an opinion was expressed by an Advisor to the President of Poland Mr. Andrzej Zybertowicz during the 12th Kyiv Security Forum organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation.
"Ukraine's progress on the issue of reforms is occurring, but it is not as fast as we would like to see. Comparing the progress of Poland with the situation in Ukraine, we see that the role of oligarchic structures associated with the Russian business complex in Ukraine is much more powerful," he noted.
Mr. Zybertowicz had stressed that this factor is a serious challenge for the implementation of reforms in Ukraine.
"And this role impedes the implementation of those reforms that have been successfully implemented in Poland. Anticorruption programs offered to Ukraine had not taken into account this specificity of your country, namely, the presence of criminal-oligarchic-force structure," he underlined.
