Sergiy Gerasymchuk: The Protection of Democracy is a Collective Challenge for Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania

Deputy Head of the Board of the Foreign Policy Council "Ukrainian Prism" Sergiy Gerasymchuk believes that Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania all face and must resists attempts at undermining their democracy. He spoke about this at the 12th Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation.

"Some foreign political players believe that under certain conditions democracy can be sacrificed. This is a challenge for all three countries. This is a challenge for Ukraine, this is a challenge for Moldova, and this is a challenge for Romania," said Gerasymchuk. He emphasized that the preservation of common values and partnership based on democracy is beneficial to all three countries.

Gerasymchuk added that despite the fact that Romania is already a member of the EU and NATO, Moldova under the Constitution is a neutral country, and Ukraine wants to join the EU and NATO, all three countries have common values and views on the security situation in the region.
