11 April 2019, 14:38

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko calls unifying the issue of Euro-Atlantic integration. He said this during the 12th Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation.

“The issue of joining the European Union and NATO united the Ukrainian nation because the EU and NATO do not start where formal borders lie, Europe begins where European values reign, human rights, respect for human dignity, high standards of life” he said.

Poroshenko noted that currently, it is necessary to enact European values into Ukrainian society.

“And this is our homework - for Ukraine to meet these criteria before we apply for EU membership. We know that no one will make it for us ... Thanks to our unity, we were able to go through a difficult period in the history of Ukraine, thanks to unity, we saved the state and created a reliable base for turning Ukraine into a successful country of happy people,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.
