Arseniy Yatsenyuk named the red lines for the winner of the presidential elections

Whoever becomes president, his goals must line up with the goals set by the Ukrainian people: independence, EU and NATO membership, justice, economic success of Ukraine — stated the Founder of the “Open Ukraine” Foundation and Ukrainian Prime Minister (2014-2016), Arseniy Yatsenyuk, while opening the 12 th Kyiv Security Forum.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk underlined that the democratic election of the President of Ukraine isn’t just the choice of the Ukrainian nation, “it’s also proof of the fact that Ukraine really is a democratic European country”: “This is a testament to true democracy.”

“We completed the first tour of the Presidential Elections with pride and dignity. We expect the new president to be announced in the second round. Whoever becomes the President of Ukraine, before him will stand monumental challenges,” said the leader of the “National Front”.

The losing candidate needs to support the new President, if, the goals of the new President align with the goals of the Ukrainian people,” stated Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

As to what these goals are, he focused on a couple of reference points: “The reference points aren’t political.

They are the Ukrainian people’s struggle. These reference points are the values that Ukraine is fighting for. 

“First, the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, this is protection and defence Second, Ukraine’s membership in NATO”, - emphasized Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

Third on his list — “justice in our country”: “Two Ukrainian revolutions were caused by violations of the rights and freedoms of people and citizens, on our agenda is dignity and justice. Fourth, according to him, is the “economic success of Ukraine and every Ukrainian.”

Attempts to go against these principles stressed Arseniy Yatsenyuk, “are red lines that we won’t let anyone cross.”
