Tereziya Yatsenyuk: Kyiv Security Forum is Held for Ukraine and Whole Free World

The Kyiv Security Forum, with this year’s Forum being the eleventh one, is organized in the interests of Ukraine and of the entire free world.

Tereziya Yatsenyuk, the Head of Supervisory Council of the Open Ukraine Foundation, emphasized this during the closing ceremony of the 11^th Kyiv Security Forum in Kyiv.

“Me personally, and our team, we are sincerely glad that we manage to meet here and to discuss such complex issues. We are emphatic and we realize that every living being in our world needs, above all, protection and safe living, wherever it is,” Tereziya Yatsenyuk stated.

She noted that in the recent years, the global security environment and the modern world system suffer severe blows.

“International terrorism is a matter of particular concern to the international community. In the context of the openness of the information world, powerful information, and transport infrastructure, terrorism has become an international phenomenon, a global problem, which can only be solved by collective effort. Is it possible to talk about international security under such conditions? It is, but only if we have caring people by our side. The strength and unity of our meeting here lie in empathy,” the Head of Supervisory Council of the Open Ukraine Foundation stressed.

She thanked all the participants, partners and attendees of the Forum.

“It is good that you come, that you work and express your thoughts, that you advise us, and we advise you. It is good that you are helping Ukraine and its future. After all, we do this Forum for Ukraine and for the whole free world”, Tereziya Yatsenyuk said addressing the participants of the event.

The annual international event Kyiv Security Forum was launched by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation Open Ukraine in 2007 as a platform for high-level discussions on the current issues in Europe and the Black Sea region. The Forum aims at increasing security cooperation between the EU and the Black Sea region, raising awareness about regional developments among key regional players, promoting the role of independent and non-governmental actors in setting the security agenda in Europe.

The event is being held with the support of NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine, the German Marshall Fund, The Victor Pinchuk Foundation, The Royal Institute of International Relations, Chatham House (UK), and The Regional Representative Office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Ukraine.
