Benjamin Haddad: United States Regard Situation in Ukraine as a Challenges for its Forces

“The U.S. forces are being tested in the border states such as Ukraine, the Baltic States, South Korea and others,” a Research Fellow at the Hudson Institute (the United States), stated during the 11^th Kyiv Security Forum organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation Open Ukraine.

He explained that during the administration of Barack Obama in the United States, there was a popular opinion that conflicts around the world had local nature and that they did not need to react excessively.

But the current situation in the world is being regarded more systematically, especially in the countries close to Russia, China, and North Korea.

The annual international event Kyiv Security Forum was launched by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation Open Ukraine in 2007 as a platform for high-level discussions on the current issues in Europe and the Black Sea region. The Forum aims at increasing security cooperation between the EU and the Black Sea region, raising awareness about regional developments among key regional players, promoting the role of independent and non-governmental actors in setting the security agenda in Europe.
