Jan Pieklo: The West’s Best Counteraction to Russian Aggression is its Values and Unity

12 April 2018, 10:51

The most important factor in counteracting the Russian aggression and its hybrid actions is the western values and unity.

Jan Pieklo, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine, stated this during the 11th Kyiv Security Forum in Kyiv.

“The most important factor in counteracting the Russian aggression and the hybrid war is Western values. We need unity,” he said.

At the same time, the ambassador stressed that it was difficult to do so since Russia was trying to destabilize Europe, the continent, and the whole world. In particular, he pointed to the current confrontation in Syria, expressing fears about a possible escalation in Donbas.

Jan Pieklo stressed that Poland tries to help Ukraine, especially in the security sphere.

“Do not forget that Poland is a real and true ally of Ukraine. Without a democratic Ukraine there will be no security in the whole of Europe,” he added.
