Arseniy Yatsenyuk: Ukraine should continue the reforms launched by our Government and acting President
The reforms launched in Ukraine after the Revolution of dignity, must continue to be implemented by the Ukrainian authorities. This was stated by former Prime Minister of Ukraine, the founder of the Open Ukraine Foundation Arseniy Yatsenyuk during the 9th Kyiv Security Forum.
“Of course, there is a lot of work to be done. Of course, a lot of work has already been done. And we have no right to stop for even a minute; we as the Ukrainian people and as the Ukrainian political establishment, who after the Maidan undertook the responsibility for the fate of the country?” – said Yatsenyuk.
Mr. Yatsenyuk stressed that Ukraine has faced incredible challenges: illegal annexation of the Crimea, the Russian military intervention in Donetsk and Lugansk, the loss of 20% of the Ukrainian economy, billions-dollar spendings on national security and defense, the need for reform, despite the fact that the country is in a state of war.
“I am sure that there is no other way for this country except for the one carried out by this government, this president. We have to continue carrying out complex, to a certain extent unpopular but correct transformations in the country. We have laid this foundation, and I would like to thank our Western partners, the European Union, the United States and the free world as a whole for not leaving Ukraine alone in these circumstances,” – said Yatsenyuk.
