The Government of Ukraine should take its time and go very carefully about the adoption of a new language legislation was the message delivered by Mrs Astrid Thors, OSCE’s High Commissioner on National Minorities to the 7th Kyiv Security Forum on Friday.

“The biggest threat for Putin is mighty and prosperous Ukraine. We hope that our new Government and our newly elected President will be capable to implement reforms and make Ukraine stronger.” -   Vasyl Myroshnychenko, Co-Founder of Ukraine Crisis Media Center, Partner CFC Consulting stated in his speech at the 7th Kyiv Security Forum.

Speaking at the 7th Kyiv Security Forum, David Kramer, President of Freedom House, called countries of the West to prevent reiteration in Ukraine of scenario that resulted in failure of revolution in Egypt.

EU’s lack of willingness to sign the whole of the Association Agreement with Ukraine, rather than just its political provisions, is a mistake. Ukraine has a legitimate government and one should give in to Russia’s pressure and propaganda.

Mr Bogdan Klich, Poland’s Minister of Defence in 2007-2011, addressing the 7th Kyiv Security Forum, suggested that the European Union and the Alliance should develop new programmes of cooperation with Russia and Ukraine.

Fight of Ukrainians for freedom and their readiness to sacrifice life for the sake of better future is “to wake Europe up” and bring back into focus the fundamental values.

“Events in Ukraine and around Ukraine are the quest for European borders. This may be even the issue of elimination or establishment of European borders”, - the Foreign Affairs Minister of Sweden Carl Bildt stated at the 7th Kyiv Security Forum.

"This year, Germany is remembering the outbreak of the First World War 100 years ago, the beginning of the Second World War 75 years ago, and the welcome fall of the Iron Curtain 25 years ago.", Franz Thoennes, Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag, voiced at the 7th Kyiv Security Forum.

Ukraine is currently a place where the future of Europe and the world is being designed and where mechanisms are being elaborated to maintain a balance of mutual relations between the European Union and the Customs Union.

Defense Minister of Lithuania (2008-2012) Rasa Jukneviciene believes that the EU should support Ukraine in its fight against Russia’s regime, including use of military facilities. She stated this speaking at the 7th KYIV Security Forum.
