
H.E. Ambassador Pavol HAMŽIK
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovak Republic to Ukraine H.E. Pavol Hamžík is Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovak Republic to Ukraine since 2009. Before this Ambassador was Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister, and Advisor to the Foreign Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bratislava ( 2006 – 2009 ). In 1998 – 2001 Amb. Hamžík was Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration. In 1998 – 2002 he was Member of Parliament and in 2001 – 2002 Mr. Hamžík was Member of the Convent on the Future of the EU as Representative of the Slovak Parliament. Also Amb. Hamžík was holding position of Chairman of the Governmental Coalition Party - Party of Civic Understanding and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic. He was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic in Germany. In 1993 – 1994 H. E. was the Head of the Governmental Delegation and Permanent Mission to the CSCE and to the CSCE Disarmament Talks, CFE Treaty, Open Skies Treaty, Chairman of the CSCE Steering Group on the crisis in Former Yugoslavia. He graduated from Comenius University in Bratislava, Law Faculty and also H.E. Hamžík studied in Diplomatic Academy in Moscow. Ambassador Hamžík speaks English, German, Russian, Czech, Hungarian and French.
