Founding member and Director of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), Georgia Giorgi Kldiashvili is a an NGO specialized on FOI in Georgia. He has over four years of experience working on government transparency, accountability and openness. He is the director and coordinator of projects at IDFI, implementation of international donors-funded projects EU, USAID, Heinrich Boell Foundation, Eurasia Partnership Foundation, Academy of Finland, etc on monitoring of access to government information, legislation amendments, writing strategy papers related to e-Government and e-Transparency, public participation as well as digital broadcasting switchover, etc. He is carrying out studies and assessments for the different international organizations and foundations such as EU bodies (EC, EPO), EU and USAID and others. Giorgi Kldiashvili works as trainer providing trainings for public servants, journalists and representatives of CSOs. In addition to his work in applied policy research with IDFI, he has academic credentials as an archive researcher, undertaking studies in history of Georgia under the Soviet Union and Soviet Studies. He holds graduate degrees in Contemporary History and worked as professor of American Studies at the Institute of American Studies at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Giorgi Kldiashvili is a professional archive researcher who has more than 10 years of experience of working in the Georgian and foreign archives on issues of Soviet and Totalitarian History, Cold War History, etc. Giorgi Kldiashvili is the Coordinator of the Media Advocacy Coalition of NGOs working on media issues in Georgia. He is author and co-author of a number of publications.
