Oleh LYASHKO

Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

Oleg Lyashko is the Ukrainian politician, MP of Ukraine, journalist and TV presenter. Leader of the Radical Party of Oleg Lyashko.

In 1998 he graduated from the H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University. In 2013 he also graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with specialty "International Business".

He started his career as a stockbreeder at the collective farm "Progress" of Lyzivka village, now Bilokurakyne district, Luhansk region.

1990-1992 – correspondent, head of department at the newspaper "Moloda Hvardiya" (Kyiv).

1992-1995 – editor of the newspaper "Comertsiyni Visti" of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

1995-1996 – editor of "Polityka" addendum to the newspaper "Pravda Ukrainy".

Since August 1996 - Chief editor of "Polityka" newspaper. In 1999 the edition was closed by the decision of the Moskovsky district court of Kyiv because of "the disclosure of state secrets".

2000-2006 – chief editor of "Svoboda" newspaper (Closely held corporation "Editorial Office of "Polityka" newspaper").

2006-2007 – People's deputy of Ukraine of V convocation within The Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc (№ 26 in the list). Chairman of the Subcommittee on the organization of work of the Supreme Council, of the the Parliamentary Committee on Rules, the deputy ethics and the operation of Parliament.

2007-2012 – deputy of Ukraine of VI convocation within The Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc (№ 29 in the list). Deputy Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on budget.

Since December 2012 – Deputy of Ukraine  of VII convocation, entered the parliament in single-mandate district #208 in the Chernihiv region (promoted by the Radical Party Oleg Lyashko). Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance and Banking. Unaffiliated.

On August 8, 2011 Oleh Lyashko became the leader of "Radical Party" which was renamed to "Radical Party of Oleg Lyashko." During parliamentary elections in 2014 the party received 7.44% of votes.

Married, with a daughter.
