In August 2017, Dan Neculăescu was appointed as the State Secretary for Regional Affairs and Multilateral Global Affairs in the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A career diplomat with the rank of Minister-Counselor, Dan Neculăescu joined the Romanian MFA in 2002, fulfilling responsibilities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in the diplomatic service abroad.
Most recently, he held important positions such as State Secretary for Strategic Affairs in the Romanian MFA and State Counselor for Foreign Affairs of the Romanian Prime Minister.
