
Liliia HRYNEVYCH
Born on May 13, 1965, in Lviv in the family of teachers. Has two higher educations: a lecturer in biochemistry (Ivan Franko State University of Lviv, 1989) and an economist-manager (Interdisciplinary Institute for Advanced Training at Lviv Polytechnic State University, 1993). Ph.D. in pedagogical sciences. The topic of the dissertation: “Trends in decentralization of education management in modern Poland (2005)”.
In the education system, she worked as a teacher, deputy Headmistress, school principal, lecturer at higher educational institutions, director of the Ukrainian Centre for Educational Quality Assessment, head of the Department of Education and Science of the Kyiv City State Administration. Had internships at Warsaw and Columbia University. She contributed to the creation of the system of External Independent Assessment in Ukraine (ZNO) and became the first director of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment (2006).
Liliia Hrynevych headed the Department of Education and Science at Kyiv City State Administration (2006-2009), was elected Member of Parliament of Ukraine of the VII and VIII convocations. In the Verkhovna Rada, she headed the Committee on Science and Education (2012-2016). Under her leadership, a number of Laws of Ukraine were drafted and adopted, namely: “On Higher Education”, “On Scientific and Technical Activities”; the Draft Law “On Education” was developed and prepared for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada, and other draft laws in the field of education and science. On April 14, 2016 – appointed as the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.
