Andriy ZUBOV

Historian, political scientist, Russian Federation

Andrei Zubov – historian, religious scholar and political scientist, PhD in History, professor of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

Mr. Zubov graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Doctor of Science (1989), thesis – “Parliamentary democracy and political traditions of the East”.

Until 2001 he worked at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Originally specialized in the study on the political history of Thailand, parliamentarism in the East. Recently, dealt with problems of religious studies and history.

On March 4, 2014 he published in the Russian magazine “Vedomosti” article entitled “This happened before”, where, analyzing the actions of Russia towards Ukraine and the intrusion of Russian troops in the Crimea, he pointed on the similarity of features of the current crisis with the annexation of Austria by Nazi Germany in 1938 and declared the malignancy of such actions for Russia. After the publication of the said Article on March 4, 2014 Zubov was fired.
