
Bogdan KLICH
Mr. Klich graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Philosophy, History and doctoral studies.
He was the head of the International Centre for Development of Democracy in Cracow, which was later converted into the Institute for Strategic Studies. Mr. Klich was an adviser to the government plenipotentiary for Poland’s accession negotiations with the European Union. In 1999–2000 he held the position of the Deputy Minister of National Defence, and between 2007 and 2011 – of the Minister of National Defence.
Since 1978 he was an opposition activist and cooperated with the Student Committee of Solidarity. Bogdan Klich was one of the founders of the Independent Students Association and was active within its underground structures. In the second half of the 1980s he was a founding member and activist in the “Wolność and Pokój” (Freedom and Peace) movement.
Senator Klich is a Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland and of its national council.
