Petro POROSHENKO

Member of Parliament of Ukraine, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (2009-1010), Minister of Economic Development and Trade (2012)

Petro Poroshenko (born: September 26, 1965, Bolgrad, Odessa area) graduated with honors in 1989 Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv (International Relations and International Law) on the international economist specialty. In 1989-1992 studied in graduate school and worked as an assistant of the International Economic Relations faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Since 1993 to 1998 he was General Director of the concern «UPI». Since 1999 – the Member of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine. 1998 – 2007 – Member of the Parliament of Ukraine (III, IV, V convocations): Head of the Budget Committee, Head of Finance and Banking Committee of the Parliament of Ukraine. 2005 – Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. 2007 – Head of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine. 2009 – 2010 – Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. March – December, 2012 – Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine. Since December 12, 2012 – Member of the Parliament of Ukraine of VI convocation, Member of the Committee of European Integration.

Honorary professor at the University of Banking of National Bank. Honorary economist of Ukraine, awarded by the «Order of Merits» (II and III degrees), the Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, the Laureate of the Pylyp Orlyk International Prize.
