Andrii DESHCHYTSYA

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

On February 27, 2014 Andrii Deshchytsya was appointed Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Diplomatic rank: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine.

From 2012 he was Ambassador-at-Large, Special Representative of OSCE Chairpersonin- Office for Conflict Resolution.

During 2008-2012 Mr. Deshchytsya was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Finland and Iceland (with Residence in Finland), and in 2006-2008 – Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

In 2004-2006 he was Counsellor, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland and in 2001-2004 Mr. Deshchytsya was Counsellor of the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Finland. During 1999-2001 he was Senior Coordinator of PAUCI (Polish-American-Ukrainian Cooperation Initiative) and in 1996-1999 – Press Secretary, First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland.

Education:

Graduated from Ivan Franko Lviv National University (1989), University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada) (1995), Master of Arts, Ph.D. in Political Science (1995).
