
James SHERR
James Sherr is Senior Fellow of the Russia and Eurasia Programme at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) in London. Between 1995 and May 2008, he was a Fellow of the former Conflict Studies Research Centre of the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom. He is also a member of the Faculty of Social Studies of Oxford University. He regularly advises the UK, NATO, the EU and partner countries on Russia, Ukraine and the Black Sea region. His relationship with the defence and security community in Ukraine is of long standing. He has spoken at the NATO-Russia Council, has delivered papers at the first and second official NATO-Russia workshops in Moscow (1994) and is a member of the Valdai Club. He is a standing participant in the activities of the Harvard Russia Security Programme, the Harvard Black Sea Security Programme, the German Marshall Fund of the United States and the NATO Defence College.
