Arseniy YATSENYUK

Prime Minister of Ukraine, Founder of the Open Ukraine Foundation

Arseniy Yatsenyuk is Ukrainian politician, economist and lawyer, who was appointed as a Prime-minister of Ukraine on February 27, 2014. Since December 11, 2012 he has been the Head of Batkivshchyna, the biggest Opposition Parliamentary Faction in the Parliament of Ukraine.

From 2007 to 2008, Arseniy Yatsenyuk has served as Speaker of Parliament of Ukraine. Previously, Mr Yatsenyuk was Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (2007). Prior to that Mr Yatsenyuk held the following positions: First Deputy Chief of the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine, Representative of the President of Ukraine to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2006- 2007); Minister of Economy of Ukraine (2005-2006); First Deputy Governor of the Odessa region (2005); Acting Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine (2004); First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine (2003-2004); Minister of Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (2001- 2003); Advisor to the Chairman, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the “AVAL” Joint-Stock Postal Pensionary Bank (1998- 2001).

Mr. Yatsenyuk holds a PhD in Economics from the Ukrainian Bank Academy. In 2001 he graduated from the Chernivtsi Trade-Economic Institute of Kyiv Trade-Economic University and in 1996 from the Chernivtsi State University, faculty of law.
