Pawel Robert KOWAL

Member of European Parliament (Poland)

Pawel Robert Kowal, Ph. D.– Chairman of the Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, European Conservatives and Reformists group, member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Subcommittee on Security and Defence, and President of the party Poland Comes First. Dr. Kowal has been involved in governmental administration since 1998. His responsibilities have included supervising relations with the Polish minority abroad in CIS countries. Subsequently, Dr. Kowal was appointed Director of the International Cooperation and European Integration Department at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2000-2001). During 2002-2005 Dr. Kowal served as Chairman of the District Council in Warsaw. He is one of the initiators of the Warsaw Uprising Museum. From 2005 to 2009 Pawel Kowal served as a Member of the Polish Sejm during the 5th and 6th sessions. He chaired the Parliamentary Commission of Culture and Mass Media and was Vice-Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission of Foreign Affairs in 2006. In 2006-2007 Dr. Kowal served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Poland’s Eastern policy. In 2010, Pawel Kowal was awarded by the weekly magazine Polityka as the best Polish novice legislator in the European Parliament. In 2011, Dr. Pawel Kowal was elected President of the Poland Comes First party.
