Markku MANTILA

Markku Mantila is Editor-in-Chief of Kavela newspaper in the Finnish city of Oulu, a position he accepted in 2009 after a successful seven year stint as editor of the regional broadsheet, Pohjalainen.
In 2011 Markku Mantila received a Finnish Grand Prize for Journalism. His career in newspapers was interrupted by a five year period in Finland’s diplomatic corps, which included postings to South Korea and Madrid. He has MSc degrees in politics from the University of Turku and the London School of Economics.
